OUR STORY

For much of my childhood, I struggled with fully embracing my African heritage. I preferred using my English name instead of my Nigerian name, hesitated to wear traditional attire in public, and often felt uncomfortable when my parents called me by my full Yoruba name. At the time, I thought blending in was easier—I didn’t want to stand out or feel different. But in trying to suppress my identity, I was only creating unnecessary stress for myself. The more I resisted my heritage, the more I felt disconnected from who I truly was.

As I grew older, I realized that embracing my culture wasn’t something to fear—it was something to celebrate. Letting go of that internal struggle brought me peace, confidence, and a sense of belonging. That realization became the foundation of Soft Life. Our brand exists to inspire others to embrace their African heritage without hesitation while also educating those who want to learn more about African culture.

No stress. Just culture.

More than just a clothing brand, Soft Life represents a mindset—a commitment to living freely, embracing culture, and taking pride in who you are. It’s about removing the pressure to conform and replacing it with confidence in your identity. Through Afro-fusion streetwear, storytelling, and community engagement, we are redefining what it means to live a ‘soft life’—one rooted in cultural pride, self-acceptance, and effortless expression.

 No stress. Just authenticity.

At the core of Soft Life is the belief that you shouldn’t have to compromise who you are to fit in. Your identity is your strength, and your culture is something to be embraced, not hidden. We’re here to remind you that living your truth is the softest life of all.

No stress. Just you.
